princess bride

When Shaunie Nelson married her "Knight in Shining Armor," Shaquille O'Neal, she shone in a $65,000 Michelle Roth gown.

Princess brideWhen LA Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal married his long-time companion Shaunie Nelson at a star-studded event at The Beverly Hills Hotel, the bride-to-be was wearing a $65,000 Michelle Roth platinum signature gown.

The fantasy gown glistened in asymmetrical layers of platinum silk tulle, beaded chiffon, lustrous silk satin and Swarovski flowers. Her Michelle Roth $5,000 three-layer floor-to-floor length veil sparkled with accents of silver embroidery.

"The bride wanted to be a modern day princess. She wanted to be ensconced in clouds of Platinum tulle and silk, so we created Silver Dreams, her ultimate fantasy," says designer Michelle Roth.

"Of course Shaq is the perfect knight in shining armor!" Shaunie's five attendants wore $7,000 Michelle Roth strapless fitted hand beaded sheaths. The gowns were draped in silvery silk tulle rusched at the side and caught with sparkling Swarovski accents.

Two gorgeous flower girls wore $2,500 Michelle Roth Flower gowns - tiny classic "powder puff" dresses layered with silver tulle and beaded silver chif-fon fabric. The dresses were finished with "Alice in Wonderland" butterflies that sparkled.

After the ceremony, the bride changed into another Michelle Roth gown that sparkled in soft tones of sequins, pearls and hand embroidery.

"Our Bride wanted to kick up her heels after the first dance. We created a magnificent umpire princess line sheath that literally shimmered," says Michelle Roth.

To finish off her look, the bride wore resplendent Fred Leighton jewelry. This included an heirloom Tiara; drop earrings and diamond bracelet valuing $205,000. "We believe that there is a real trend for brides to get married in the winter as Shaunie O'Neal did. It is so soft, romantic and different," Roth says.
